San Carlos Mexico Area ActivitiesYou'll never run out of things to do in San Carlos. At the top of the list you’ll find sportfishing, sailing, diving and golf. But there are plenty of other things to do including snorkeling, windsurfing, water skiing, jet skiing, whale watching, shell collecting, clamming, bird watching, mountain biking, hiking, horseback riding, hunting, tennis, bowling and yes..even off-track betting. For those of you who want to do volunteer work in the community, there are those opportunities as well. FishingSan Carlos is home to an enormous variety of fish all year around. In
the spring and summer you’ll catch marlin, sailfish, and find arguably
some of the best fishing for dorado (mahi-mahi) anywhere in the world.
Depending on the year, yellowfin tuna fishing ranges from spotty to
good. In fall and winter you can bottom fish for red snapper, grouper,
Mexican salmon, and calico bass or troll for yellowtail or cabrilla. DIVINGDiving is a passion for many of the visitors who come to San Carlos. It makes no difference if you are a novice or a dive master, our underwater playground offers something for everyone. Two artificial reefs, a sunken ferry and several smaller wrecks make the Sonora Bay area an ideal dive destination. More and more divers are talking about San Carlos, which is rapidly gaining a reputation as one of the top diving spots in Mexico. The experts agree. See what Rodales has to say about the great diving you'll find around San Carlos. SAILINGSonora Bay is a popular destination for sailing and cruising. Gentle seas and warm breezes attract sailors to the area. San Carlos has 2 full service marinas and excellent anchorages up and down the coast. For the more serious sailors, there is an international sailing regatta, which is held here each year. Golf
